imos CAM translates the design from imos CAD into the required manufacturing files for your production.  

The imos approach is simple: deliver ready-to-go CNC programs that contain all the correct tooling and manufacturing information.

The CNC files are made specifically for the job you are currently working on, avoiding the time-consuming editing of macro’s or writing programs by hand.

imos CAM generates files for beam saws, edgebanders, CNC nesting machines and CNC pod & rail machines.

Imos  has the power and ability to intelligently process CNC programs for a factory with multiple types of equipment, each with various machining functions.  This program to machine association is defined according to the part characteristics - and then filtered to each respective machine.  So for example, a panel with horizontal boring will be sent to a pod and rail CNC and not to the nesting CNC.  

An available add on programming system with a real-time simulation simplifies the operation of creating a 5 axis program. The 5 axis programming is created in CAD with predefined processing operations and afterwards transferred to the 3D simulation and then onto the machine.

A highly configurable interface is used for the connection to your cutting optimisation software. In this process, sizing dimensions and material descriptions, part descriptions, item numbers or part graphics can be transferred. The part can be clearly identified with the use of part labels.

Imos Direct Nest can create an optimised nesting map and generates the milling path and drilling data. This cutting optimisation achieves an improved material utilisation especially with a variety of different shaped parts. Further CNC programs for alternative machines are generated for possible horizontal processing.  Additionally imos can connect to existing nesting systems by producing the CNC files and a list file for the nesting software.

An important element of CNC manufacturing is to get the appropriate work piece identified via a barcode on a part label. A unique part number can be generated directly in imos on the basis of user defined rules to ensure that the part can be clearly allocated into the production.
